What does your pre-shift routine look like?
(10 years ICU experience, started medication after 9 years)
I’m new to practicing while properly medicated, and I’m trying to figure out how to make my meds last my whole shift while also getting optimal nutrition on my work days.
Right now, I wake up at 0500 and take my Adderall 20mg XR and Wellbutrin 150mg XL, then go back to sleep(ish) until 0530. My hope is that by the time I clock in at 0645 my meds have kicked in. I try not to take my meds within an hour of my daily morning smoothie which has a lot of fruit, so I worry it can interact with Adderall.
Then, of course, I just forget to eat all day by the time I get to work and get started.
Plus, my meds are wearing off by 5pm which is usually the worst part of my shift on busy days, and I’m getting super irritable at this time.
Looking for tips for how to start the day with balance of getting a morning source of sustenance plus optimizing my meds.

I think this is going to be similar to my experience. I have a unique situation where I’m coming back to work with 30lbs extra weight from a year of disability, but now that I’m active the weight is falling off and my current dose is possibly going to become something I need to consider from the appetite standpoint. I’ve been getting busy and just forgetting to eat. I need two small doses, I think.
Problem is, my current provider greatly prefers extended release.
