Post Body

Background: (second career) nurse for almost two years, first job in a specialized ICU in a well known hospital that requires rotating day and night shift.

My health has gone down the gutter. We’re talking early menopause symptoms, poor sleep almost all the time, other hormonal issues. And I’m about to be 31. Made the decision to go FT with my PRN IR position because that schedule was not sustainable. Luckily it’s during the week, no nights/weekends/holidays and call is until 7p only for only a few shifts out of the schedule period. So a much more normalized schedule compared to my other one.

But I am absolutely exhausted. Getting into a good routine of sleep and exercise, along with better nutritious foods is my priority. Right now, it’s a struggle to give energy to that when I’m so tired all the time. Please tell me this will get better, I’m feeling a bit hopeless right now 😭 Would also love any advice for folks who went through something similar and got their health sorted out.
