I'm looking to learn about EHR/EMR platforms and find a role in sales. The hospital I'm at uses Epic for their EHR and I'm intrigued by it. What companies should I look at to find a role in EHR sales? Any platforms in particular? Any tips on leveraging my experience as a startup entrepreneur / business owner?
I've got experience working in research (2 yr fellowship in biomedical engineering), lab automation (2 years), as a startup entrepreneur (2 yrs cofounder of a biotech, 2 years cofounder of an LED), and 7 years running my own "freelance" web development firm where I did all the client acquisition. Plus a 4 year degree in biomedical engineering. Most recently I've been working as a biomedical equipment technician in a hospital and have gotten my hands on a handful of different medical equipment, both around the hospital and in the OR. The EHR systems are particularly interesting to me, but I don't know the landscape.
