Currently a CNA for almost 2 years taking prereqs for an LVN program. Yes, I know an RN makes much more, but I did university already and it had nothing to do with healthcare, I don’t want to be in school for 2-3 years without being able to work full time, and I figure being an LVN is a good way to become a nurse in a relatively short amount of time and make more than a CNA.
This is what it seems like to me. But I’m asking you all, what’s your experience been as an LVN at SNFs and hospitals?
As a CNA I make 26 and change an hour, as an LVN I can make at least 40 an hour. I’m asking because I always hear that LVNs are being phased out and that it’s not as easy to get a job as an RN, but what about compared to a CNA?
Thanks all
