Moral Dilemma
Post Body

One of the staff nurses at my current travel contract has been working under a temp license while waiting to get their permanent license in a compact state. They forgot about some of the required paperwork and let the temp license expire. It has been expired for 23 days now and they have continued to work. Their original license is from a non compact state. I told them they really needed to get this figured out because I worked with another nurse who let this happen and she ended up on probation with the BON and can only hold her original non compact license for 5 years. She’s not able to apply for any other state licenses. The nurse said they’d figure it out, they aren’t worried about it. I know it is none of my business, but the facility could get in to major trouble over this as well as the nurse with the expired license. It seems like a huge liability to the facility. I feel like I should let someone know, but I don’t want to be that person. What should I do?
