Iโve been working as a postpartum nurse for 2 years, before that I was a med surg nurse for a year during the pandemic. It was a pretty traumatic time but going to postpartum, I met the most amazing nurses on nightshift. I might as well call them my second family. But because of lack of management (my manager quit) and a lot of BS going on around the unit with some senior nurses making up their own rules, I made the move to accept a L&D nightshift offer at another hospital that has a better union and better staffing. I know itโs bad everywhere, but I also always wanted to be a L&D nurse for a long time but was always intimidated. I submitted my resignation email and my night crew group hugged me and we cried together. I will miss them, I am nervous but excited for a new experience. Thank you guys on Reddit as a group I can find solidarity and confide in!
