i got to work yesterday and my manager was like i have something for you! and it was a daisy nomination!!!! a patient and his family wrote it and even left a sweet card š„¹ i was with him post op for a CABG and he came to our icu intubated for some hours so it was pretty scary for the family. i tried my best to just talk them through everything going on and let them know iām there to support and advocate. but i felt like i was letting them down the whole time since iām still a baby nurse, I was newly off orientation when I had them earlier in the year.
but honestly it feels very validating since i clock in sometimes wondering how they gave me w license in the first place lol. i feel so stupid some days around all the experiences nurses. just wanted to share with you guys since this subreddit is like a safe haven for me on my bad days.
