Wikipedia defines Exhibitionist as, "Exhibitionism is the act of exposing in a public or semi-public context those parts of one's body that are not normally exposed – for example, the breasts, genitals or buttocks." That also defines "nudist."
One might also observe that a person can walk around all day and not be a nudist until you expose your body parts in a public or semi-public context such as a nudist beach, resort, etc. If you always keep your shorts (and f. bra) on you aren't a nudist. Its only when you take it off, and expose your "parts," that public beach or resort activity becomes nudist.
Is Wikipedia wrong about what makes someone an exhibitionist? Can you be a "nudist" without exposing your parts? Is there somewhere I've gone wrong here?
in my mind an exhibitionist gets pleasure from others seeing them nude - which is why the word exposed is used
while a nudist prefers to be nude in nature and in social situations for relaxation and does not matter if others are seeing them and does not seek to 'expose' themselves to others to enjoy their lifestyle
