How is Dauphin Island’s nude beach?

Hi! I (30M) have been going to Dauphin Island for years, but just learned that it has a nude beach section a few miles down from where the ferry drops off. Has anyone been? Is it worth the hike? I’m primarily an at home nudist but am looking to experience nudism in a group setting and feel like a nude beach is an ideally first experience for me and a more comfortable situation for my wife who would prefer to stay clothed.
