We had a work outing recently and at the end it was just two of us. We don't really know each other too well, so I was surprised when she told a story about skinny dipping when she was the only one nude, And the others outside of the water "had no idea" she was naked
While I've had my own experiences, and love the idea of a freer world without inhibitions, work is one of the places where I feel like I need to have my own guards up.
I laughed when she told the story because it was a genuinely funny experience and shrugged it off saying that they must have seen, but not been as prude as expected while also mentioning that it can be common in the area where she was doing it. She Also later talked about the show "Naked and Afraid" and I just joked about how I would do it on a tropical island but not the jungle because of the mosquitos.
I didn't go into specifics about my own history and interest in nudism, but I feel bad now since that might play into the social stigma. However at the same time, I don't envision a friendship outside of work with this person, so I didn't feel the need to elaborate. The two conversations weren't related and there was about 30 min between them. I give off a nature lover vibe at work (I think) so I don't know if she just felt comfortable talking about that with me, or if she was trying to fish to see if I had specific interest in the lifestyle.
Have you ever been out into an awkward situation with a coworker? How did you respond? How would you have responded in my situation?
