Can't play with multiple players due to a steam cloud message that i can't close

So I've been trying to get this program to work for left 4 dead 2, it starts all the screens fine and sets the controllers up fine, but a message appears in the game telling you about the steam cloud service and this message cannot be closed at all, not even with a mouse so the other screens cannot play. I've tried turning steam cloud off for left 4 dead but the message still appears.

Anyone else had this issue and know a fix for it? I've tries running it through alpha 8 and 10 and it's the same on both.
