It’s nice knowing that you don’t really have to worry about an asteroid destroying your ecosystem or worrying that an alien race might enslave you for procreation purposes and you barely have to worry about the occasional crackhead busting your head wide open and stealing your belongings. However, I do not appreciate seeing my car being flown around as artillery towards the alien spaceship approaching, much less do I take kindly when my apartment is smashed through by two superhuman fucks having a grudge match. Am I nitpicking? Possibly, but it’s still valid criticism of our current way of life.

Just once I wish I could get the fuck off work, on the train and get to my apartment without having a 2-hour delay because SuperFuck and Cuntman decided to chase some other asshole underground. I work 8 hours a day and I just wish I didn’t have to suffer more due to some act of superhuman brutes.

Not to mention, these “heroes” might as well be actual Gods to us. You can count yourself as more than lucky if you happen to interact with one of them rather than just see them fly or run by you in the process of perpetrating thousands of dollars in damage to the city. It’s like they are just to be looked at and never touched, you never really see them in any danger, nor do you see them express much emotion like regular people.

Well, whatever, I might as well head down to my local pub tonight since it’s the weekend. A pair of black cargo jeans, a baggy brown shirt and a hooded leather jacket would be enough to combat the icy and violent wind that sounded in the street, it was only a few blocks away anyhow. Inside the bar, the weather is much nicer, an airflow of soft drinks, hard liquor, cigarettes and horny people filled the room. I sat down, ordered an Old Fashioned, unzipped my jacket and just read the room.

Suddenly, I noticed a slight change. The front door of the bar opened and then closed quickly; some new patron walked in. Curious attire?
