Welcome to the neighbourhood.

My wife and I had finally saved up enough money to go from a central urban flat to a nice suburban three bedroom house. We had viewed the house a number of times and it just felt right. A driveway, a nice sized garden and more space, Above all of that, it seemed like a very friendly neighbourhood, one which we felt would fit in quite well. A good mix of newlywed couples, established families and a few empty nest couples. In fact, we brought off one of those empty nest couples, who were very reluctant to sell, but just didn’t need the extra space.

Moving day went much more smoothly than expected! Not a single item missing or broken. We saw a few neighbours on moving day and exchanged polite smiles. It was exhausting and we knew it would be a while before we unpacked all the boxes.

We had been married for five years now, and things were fairly static, in fact the move was probably the most exciting thing that happened to us in the last few years. I guess average is the best way to describe us both. We’re in our late 30’s, not slim but not fat either.
