Just popped in to say that I went to Family First Psychological Services in Vienna to get evaluated for ASD and ADHD, and I am highly satisfied with the results. The doctor I worked with offered in-depth explanations of the testing and findings. I walked away with a packet outlining my strengths, weaknesses, and proposed next steps. They also sent me a superbill when everything was done, and have communicated that they will work with me if my insurance raises hell about certain billing codes.
What I need you to understand is that this is about more than promoting a medical practice. I have struggled with undiagnosed neurodivergence during my life in NoVA. Doctors have historically been of little to no help to me in this respect, and the years spent not having a proper diagnosis have had measurable negative effects on my life. I could have spent years being happy or at least slightly more in control of my brain if doctors in this area were more knowledgeable as to how neurodivergence should be diagnosed and treated. I don't want anyone else to experience what I've experienced.
If you feel like you might be on the spectrum or have ADHD, I implore you to get checked out. It can be scary and overwhelming to learn what's really going on inside your head, but not knowing is so much worse.
