Data Centers - How can we put a stop to them??

Post Body

I've recently been looking into the effects of these data centers and what it takes to run them, considering I've been watching them erect what seems like 100's of these in the past year or so.

The amount of power AND water these buildings use up on a day to day basis is atrocious and will contribute heavily to our resources being drained even quicker than we are managing currently as a population. It sickens me to think that (according to what I could find on google) each one uses 300k gallons of water a day and the equivalent power usage of 10k homes. It's no wonder that this planets water is running out quicker and quicker each year and while it may or may not effect me or my generation currently, it's bound to effect the later ones, including that of my children.

What can I personally do to somehow assist in trying to put a stop to this things being planted everywhere?? Are there public hearings I can attend, petitions I can sign?? I'm tired of seeing new ones being thrown up every day and I can't stand the idea of these big corporations getting even more money off of our suffering. While yes I understand that the people building these are given jobs and paid well to work on them, but there are plenty of other construction jobs that need workers, and I dare say they'd be better off doing those instead.
