I have been feeling this push and pull of motivated to hopeless since December 4th. I feel like now that TikTok is back, the majority will turn a blind eye despite there being clear differences in how videos and comments are being flagged that indicate Shou sold us out to the government fully. I understand our country is set up to exhaust us mentally, so I feel it’s more likely the majority of people will tolerate the change and go on with their life as usual.
The US is so huge, and honestly we desperately need to work on in person large meetings. Not just marches, but meetings, where we can discuss how to open channels to educate and build local communities, but also how we as a collective can counter the new propaganda that is going to be rampant in the next 4 years. We need to figure out how to bring larger figures on our side to help push forward momentum. Despite the US being huge, movements in the past were successful by door to door and community events tactics and those likely have to been implemented here.
I keep seeing people compare these events to the French Revolution, but the peasants in France didn’t rise up to the level they did until famine caused them to start witnessing their families and children dying. I worry things will have to get progressively worse and worse before a large collective organizes effectively, but worry it could be too late at that point.
i am right there with you trying not to lose hope but i have soooooooooo very little left
