After the last post I thought about my weight and wanted to see if I had any old photos to compare to. These were the only ones I had, the first naked photos I ever took in 2020. I don't notice a lot of difference except that my photography skills have improved. In order for my breasts to look bigger the rest of my torso had to have gotten smaller though! Photos 1 and 2 are 2020 on the left, age 24, 150lb. On the right from today. The third photo is a full standing view of me from today. I still feel like it's weird having gained 15lbs and I should be lower than that if I'm making progress in the gym. Trying to accept that it's just a number.
I try my best to eat enough. Sometimes with work I get busy and forget, so I've started adding in some protein supplementation here and there. But it was weird, that photo on the left is actually 5 years of going to the gym already. My weight went from 130 to 150 in those first 5 years. I was like a stick before as a teen. So I'm kind of happy I'm still able to build and progress
I went for the smile this time because I do honestly feel more confident now, and I want more than just my body language to show that. Thank you
I think it's a cool look, makes me feel like an adult but also well groomed! Thank you
Thank you, I made a point to smile this time π₯²
Thanks, I'm trying my best to maintain weight because when it drops it tends to be me not eating enough. If I had a better photo from 2020 it might be an easier comparison, but just goes to show I wasn't confident about my body then. Even in a photo in my own bathroom I was trying to hide.
Honestly I was a very late bloomer so it may be a combination of that and the increase in muscle tone on my chest and abs
It's a new thing I'm trying. I'm getting better at trimming it properly. Thank you
Thank you. It's a strange feeling thinking you still have a long way to go with confidence and then seeing an old photo like this. I can tell just by looking at it how much more nervous I was.
That's my preferred form of measurement to be honest. It's why I don't have a scale anymore
I'm actually 11 years into crossfit that's really my only workout. I exercise with college kids and grandparents and everyone in between, all modify for their skill level. It's a fantastic program if you have mindful trainers who want to keep you safe
That's the plan π«‘ and thank you for the positivity
I had a good day in the gym today and I went back looking for some old photos. It makes me remember why I take them, so my brain can't lie to me about it later. I agree, I think part of posting should be that it's enjoyable
Let's hope I'm a long way off from that π I hope to approach my 30s-50s with a really good base amount of muscle so I can continue to be healthy at any age. I see so many people through work even in their 60s who look like a minor fall would take them out of commission. I want to be a resilient grandma πͺπΌ
This is a 'just woke up' photo, my hair is always a disaster area after the gym. I know for a fact the other photo from 2020 was me about to shower before bed so I wanted a fair comparison. I try not to get too crazy analyzing my photos, but once a month might be a good idea
Thank you. I definitely added some weight in muscle but overall kept the same shape, which is what I want!
Well it's only been 6 months that I've been posting, but I do hope to continue :)
Thanks βπΌ I'm keeping it, I think it's the best of both worlds
Thank you, exercise is one of the things I don't compromise on even if things get really stressful. I made some goals for next year already on getting better at my lifts and gymnastics movements.
A lot of it is food too, I used to go crazy with watching what I eat and was probably under eating. They don't lie when they say nutrition has a ton of impact
Thanks, I like this look too. I'm really happy this is the way my body naturally goes with exercise
I was surprised I still gained that much muscle even when I was a few years into training in the 'old' photo. Seeing yourself daily it's harder to notice the difference. Thank you
Not at all. I know it's a Canon DSLR, probably a bit older
I definitely feel good and I feel healthy. I'm able to do the things I want to and I make progress in the gym. Thank you!
Yeah once I started exercising I kind of built this shape and haven't really deviated from it. I've been doing the same style of workouts for all that time. Like I was saying to some other people, the 2020 photo was after about 5 years of continuous exercise. I used to be super skinny as a teen
That's one thing I can definitely claim, the confidence has improved tenfold. Thank you.
That's my thought too. I've got a family member who is going to let me borrow one for a bit and try it out
Hah, a phone. It's embarrassing I really want a real camera. A lot of my photos are with the simple front camera because I can't see while I'm taking them if I'm in frame otherwise. I would like to get one with a flip around screen
The quality of the first photo is just bad lol. I think I'm doing a good job maintaining my body at least. and definitely interested!
