I am two months into working at a non profit that provides afterschool programs for middle school youth (see previous post if interested).
But I came up on two months this past Monday and I asked my boss if we can have a check in, in regard to if I am on track with his expectations/ staying aligned with his vision.
This morning I get an email from him request that I send him a list of what I have accomplished so far in two months. Mind you, on the first day that I began working at this organization, I myself asked my boss if he could create a list of expectations/accomplishments that he would like me to meet by the 30/60/90 day mark of my employment. I have yet to receive this document.
So I am pretty baffled at the fact that he is asking me to draft my own list of accomplishments when he hasn’t given me what I requested.
Is this normal behavior coming from a Executive Director? Or could this be a red flag? There is not much collaboration that goes on with this ED, he just constantly creates more work for me and deflects when I request help from him or ask questions. :(
