Hello, I’m an educator looking to branch out and try something new. I’m a bit burnt out on teaching and looking for a new avenue.
I’d like to ask about salary negotiations with a large charitable organization. The job posting has stated the salary to be $50,000. I did some research on what this chapter has paid the president and it’s around $130,000 in 2020.
This posted salary is about $5000 less than I currently make as a teacher. I’d also be losing a pension. My questions are regarding negotiation both salary and benefits. How much wiggle room is there ? What about other non salary negotiations are common ? 401k match? Vacation plan? Remote work? Bonus?
I appreciate any feedback and or advice you can give. Thanks a million.
