So I really don’t know where to start, so this is probably going to be long and confusing.

I(22m) started dating L(22f) about 3 months ago, after I had just gotten out of a year long monogamous relationship. During that time I realised that monogamy wasn’t for me (I didn’t cheat or anything just in case you’re wondering). L and I met each other just about a week after I broke up and decided to take things slow and just see where it leads us. We decided to be open and honest about our feelings and let ourselves “fall”. So it kinda turned into an easygoing open thing. Well now things have gotten more serious, we talked about relationships and all that. But lately I’ve been overwhelmed with the options I guess. The other ways to have a romantic sexual relationship that are not monogamous. I had open relationships before but there it was about sex not actually meeting other people and building an emotional connection. And while I think I would be fine with something “completely” polyamorous, she wants me to treat her as my main relationship I guess. And I’m fine with that. I think that’s something that I want too. Still some part of me feels weird about breaking the norms of a standard relationship.

So here’s the thing: We’re both sticklers for words and phrasing so what would we call that kind of relationship? Its not quite polyamory but I also don’t want to treat it as an open relationship where I can’t build an emotional connection (be it platonic or romantic or whatever the hell) with other people.

So yeah what is this?
