Why should we try it if we're "Satisfied?"

My wife and I, married for 10 years and monogamous, have discussed threesomes, both MFM and FMF. We've had these discussions for years it seems, even had a few, almost, chance encounters but we still haven't taken that plunge. Not to say I've gotten cold feet, but I'm starting to question the "WHY" of the situation. If we're both emotionally, romantically and sexualy satisfied in our monogamous lifestyle, should we dabble IN ENM? We're any of you in a similar situation, switching from a long term monogamous relationship to ENM? What made you make the switch?
