I am a transwoman and have been in a loving monogamous relationship / marriage for many years. It has been three years since I began to transition and for the last year I have found my sexual orientation broadening and I feel that exploring a relationship with a man would help in understanding my gender and sexuality issues. I am still attracted to women and specifically to my wife.
I have broached the subject with my wife who is not interested in 3-somes or dating couples and no interest in exploring an open relationship herself... She has legitimate fears and concerns about the idea of me dating a man. I have talked at length with her to understand them and to adjust my requests as much as I can to respect her concerns but she is still reticent.
I proposed a short term exploration of my sexuality offering her all kinds of additional options such as her having veto powers, cancellation of the term of exploration, etc. but she fears I will want it to continue beyond the limited time frame. She also fears she would be resentful and afraid I would run off with some guy. I haven't been able to assuage her fears. We are committed to each other and our marriage but I need to figure this sexuality stuff out.
Any constructive advice would be welcome.
