Hi everyone. My partner and I are struggling quite a bit since opening our marriage and finding a marriage counselor who can help had been next to impossible. I have tried looking on all of the poly therapist sites to see who is in my state that specializes in it, and everytime it says someone does it turns out they don’t. After not being able to find anyone we decided to start seeing a “poly/ENM coach” who we learned was not certified in anything (didn’t really know the difference) and lowkey made everything in our relationship much more complicated with her shitty advice. I don’t want to just settle for a marriage counselor if they are going to be bias and judge mental of our unconventional situation. We have a consultation with a new therapist today so hopefully it will go well. We are in Ohio if anyone has any recs. I’m just not really wanting to see any coaches or gurus and would prefer to see someone who is licensce and educated on the topic. Insurance is not an issue, we will pay what we have to out of pocket. Thx!
