Casual dom/sub dynamic?

Post Body

I’ve been going on a few dates recently and I met up with a man who I had really spectacular chemistry with. It’s way too soon to tell if this will evolve into something significant, but he’s not the first person I have encountered who seems to want a casual dom/sub dynamic with a partner.

In between dates, he is not very communicative. No problemo, I can do casual, although I am starting to realize I would prefer someone a little bit more.. wanting to connect in between dates. Not texting 24/7, but just a certain behavior could allow me to feel a sense of security. Also, I think emotional entanglement honestly helps build the excitement and can make sex way more raw and passionate. I want all the feels, but only if that desire for intense connection is mutual. But maybe that can evolve, a connection can start off as restrained and unimportant and then build… maybe?

Regardless, we’ve only met once. Our next date is tomorrow. It is clear that he and I would effortlessly fall into those roles… but I guess, how do I build trust with him? Should we keep our initial dates more vanilla? Has anyone on her successfully navigated a dom/sub dynamic that started off as casual and maybe still is? I have a hard time grappling with the idea that a dom/sub dynamic could just be casual because it’s quite a heightened thing versus having a sexual relationship where that dynamic is not the sole focus alone.
