Has anyone left a long-term monogamous relationship (or marriage) to explore non-monogamy? How was it? Looking for the good and bad outcomes?

I have a wonderful marriage. But I can't help feeling this growing desire to explore non-monogamy. I don't know whether to try and just squash that feeling down forever, or potentially ruin the wonderful partnership I have now.
