My (f35) lover (f32) (both marriednand ENM, together for last 5 months) decided to de-escalate our relationship to just frends whist I was going through a stresful time so I cut her off. Am I Overreacting? (Please read entire post)
So, I (f35) recently had a falling out with a lover(f32), and I’m wondering if I overreacted. We had an ongoing relationship that was primarily sexual, but she recently decided to deescalate things and just be friends—cutting out the sexual aspect altogether.
Here’s the kicker: she made this decision when I was going through a particularly stressful time. I had just finished a super important and stressful exam, was recovering from COVID, and was about to move houses. To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement.
Her timing really upset me, and I decided to cut her off completely. I felt like she didn’t care about how much I was dealing with and how her decision would impact me during such a vulnerable time. It felt like an extra slap in the face when I was already down.
So, am I overreacting by being this angry and cutting her off? Or is my reaction justified given the timing and circumstances?
TL;DR: My (f35) lover (f32) decided to de-escalate our relationship to just friends while I was going through a very stressful time (important exam, COVID recovery, moving houses). I was really upset and cut her off completely. Am I overreacting?
