Wasn't planned. Her mother and I split before she could remember anything, so she has only known her parents living apart and dating other people. She also knows that I've been single (I suppose I am solopoly right now, but wouldn't say no to something more if a connection with someone grew deeper) for a year and she asked if I was seeing anyone and then it kind of came out. She must probably presume that her mother and I have had sex with other people, but I obviously did not go into my sex life to keep things from getting awkward.

2 years ago, she was having friendship problems where the title of best friend had been shifted to various friends in her circle. I told her back then that things could be a lot easier if she simply had several good friends instead of building up a single person to be the bestie. As I now told her that I see a variety of women due to various interests and connections, she seemed to understand what I meant.

She doesn't have any crushes right now, but she knows she has the support if she does find herself liking more than one person at a time.
