I(27m) and my boyfriend(29m) have been together for 5 years now. We have definitely had our share of good and bad times. We’ve never fully had any bad arguments but more like disagreements. When we got together he was into the poly and non monogamy but didn’t want to be that way considering this was my first real relationship. Over the course of these years being together he has opened up more and told me that he wants to be non monogamous and have an open relationship. At first I was hesitant and wasn’t sure if it was something I was comfortable with but I gave it a try and had no problem with is as long as it was plutonic and no emotions attached to the other parties. But recently things have changed. He has starting hanging with a so called friend m(22) that he is head over heels for. He’s been over almost everyday sometimes multiple times a day. I’m not trying to be the controlling insecure jealous type but I am starting to feel excluded and pushed away even though my boyfriend has told me numerous times he loves me more than anything and nothing can change the fact that we’ve been together for all these years and nobody can take that away. I’m at a point now where I feel like this man will somehow drive a wedge between us and I do love him with my whole heart but I am starting to feel pushed away. I have communicated how I felt and he reassured me that nothing with change between us but I can see and feel the change between us. I don’t wanna overreact or make him feel ashamed of who he is and the lifestyle he lives but I can’t help but overthink and worry that eventually he will want mainly this new man. If anybody has any advice on what to do or if I’m in the wrong anything will be of help!
