My new partner is ENM, as am I, and I made it very clear from the beginning that I wanted to have an open relationship. Things became serious between us quite quickly and now a few months in he hates the idea of me sleeping with other men and becomes incredibly moody whenever we talk about it. I have a date with a FWB I haven't seen in a long time (which I had planned even before I met my new bf) which I'm really looking forward to but my bf seems so angry and stubborn and doesn't want me to go. He isn't new to ENM but is new to a partner sleeping with another man, in the past it had only been his female partners sleeping with other women. He hasn't dated anyone else at this stage despite my encouragement.

I am new to this and I'm very disappointed that the first ENM person I have had a relationship with (and generally adore btw) is backing out/struggling to cope. I feel this lifestyle is necessary for me because I have felt so controlled in previous relationships and I generally only feel compersion so it seems like something that could make me really happy. Any advice?
