Open to MFM or FMF

My partner and I have been ENM in the past and have really enjoyed it. It was important for us to keep open communication with our “couple” and not keep secrets. That has worked well for us. I’m (F) and open to both options. My partner (M) is more open to FMF but also open to exploring my suggestion of MFM. We chose threesomes or foursomes in the past and feel comfortable keeping it that way. Neither of us are comfortable with one on one. Is this a “rule” or rather a comfortability thing for anyone else? Just curious to see what works for other people. Im open to all suggestions.
