I’m not trying to be inflammatory or troll, but why specifically is it more ethical to be poly/NM than it is to cheat?

Post Body

If I tell my wife that I have other partners, I am opening the door to her wondering why she’s not enough or her to feel unpleasant emotions. She might have low self esteem or think I don’t love her as much as someone else.

If I hide cheating, and I practice safe sex, my wife never has to know that I need more than just her and she can live in blissful ignorance - believing herself to be my one and only. Afterall it’s not entirely a lie I’m married to her and sleep in the same bed as her I just have sex with other women I don’t care about.

So yeah. Like I said I’m not trying to troll or rage bait I’m genuinely wondering why someone needs to know that they can’t fully satisfy you.
