Me (34f) and my wife (31f) recently opened up our marriage (about 6 months ago) and Iāve found myself in this place that, while Iām definitely all in - Iām still having some āfeelingsā seeing my wife form relationships with people outside of our marriage.
Iāve had a few short lived flings with folks, but sheās been seeing the same person for about 4 months now and theyāre getting very close. Which, when Iām not emotional, I love to see and feel like Iāve very much come into a place of compersion.
That said, there are moments (like tonight) where those feelings get the better of me and I find myself having difficulty coping.
Tonight we took a new step in our relationship, my wife is having her first sleepover with her partner. We talked about it, I gave my blessing, and everything was fine until I found out they werenāt sleeping at her partners place, they were staying at a luxury hotel āas a treat.ā
Apparently this was a last minute change of plans and it was communicated to me when she found out, but to a ay this has me feeling insecure would be an understatement.
My wife and I struggle financially, and Iām definitely feeling insecure about someone else āwining and diningā her in a way Iām not able to.
Iām doing my best to just chill - but Iām looking for advice from folks whoāve been in this longer than I have. How do you cope when these feelings arise?
I trust my wife, I love my wife, I want her to have a good time with her other partner but right now I am not feeling it and I just want her to come home.
Any advice would be appreciated. This post will likely be deleted at some point.
