Can you push through friendship for it to be sexual?

My (33F) and partner (38M) have friends that are also a couple (M and F) and they're super lovely and super hot. My partner and I have floated the idea of having group sex, we all get along and respect one another and it makes sense. However, because we've been friends this whole time, I've put them in a friendship box, and whilst I am attracted to them, mentally when I have a strong friendship with someone, it's difficult to then be sexual with them. We have lots of non monog friends, but I can't easily switch the friendship to sexual energy. Does anyone else experience this?
