Girlfriend wants to try an open relationship.

My girlfriend ined and I have been together for 2 years. She recently opened up that though she does see a long term future with me and wants to marry me, she has never been with anyone else or dated anyone else and that scares her. She’s very adamant on trying an open relationship. My fears are that she falls in love with someone else among other things. I was wondering how those in open relationships balance that? Also what rules would be good for starters?
