My wife and I, both 40, are in an open relationship. I have a steady FWB that I go out on dates with every week.
This post is meant to be more of a toungue-in-cheek poll.
Whenever I go out to see my friend for our date, I usually tell my wife I'm going out to see my Mistress, and this seems to irk my wife sometimes. I say it to be funny. She prefers if I call her my Lover instead of Mistress.
So, r/nonmonogamy, is using the term Mistress as a joke appropriate, or does it bring forth too many negative connotations?
