I mean like the 90s, when I was between marriages. Back then you would have sex with a condom without getting tested. Then, if you wanted to lose the condom you would get an aids test. (I'm vasectomized, so pregnancy issues weren't a concern.)

Now that I am recently open and poly-exploring, the general consensus is you get a panel of tests before you have sex at all, and then continue to use a condom, even if you are negative everything. Seems pretty good to me.

Granted the old way was when I was looking for one girlfriend at a time.

More recently, I have kissed some people without exchanging test results.
