We've been together for almost a year now, 3 motnhs in he stopped kissing and hugging me, we had lots of conversation. I thought he's gay. I thought he doesn't love me anymore. He DIDN'T KNOW what was happening.
Until eventually I guessed: He's too afraid to disrespect me, to do something sexist, to hurt me or to become a rapist. He's ashamed of what he desires and he's self conscious about his body. Besides that he has a lower libido than I do. He was satisfying himself via masturbation (he used to be addicted to it a few years ago) until about a month ago, when he promised he won't do it for the sake of our intimacy.
He really cares about me and listens to me when I'm trying to express my needs. I really love and appreciate him tho we're so different. He's shy, quiet, reliable, laid-back, likes leisure time alone (Netflix, gaming etc). I am ambitious, extraverted and need a lot of stimulation, have lot's of hobbies. He could be a safepoint for me to not get too sucked into work and I here for him to experience some life. He often says I'm excited for both of us, he just watches cuz it's unavailable for him. Maybe I'm like a TV show for him lmao. And we both think this relationship dynamic has strong potential to be a healthy long term commitment. We're our firsts. We both see eachothers as the ones and we wanna work on staying together for life.
Our bedroom has always been dead. He had troubles with talking. He has troubles with simple intimacy but is working on that. He hugs me etc. now. We had sex a couple of times. All happened after I had to tell him I feel rejected and sexually frustrated. And he explicitly told me he's doing it for me. I don't feel okay with such arrangement. I want to be desired not be an obligation. I often find myself dissapointed in our interactions, he rejects my touch (not even sexual) tho he asked me to maybe initiate stuff. No. I won't be rejected sexually. He already rejects me on other plains. I told him all of that and it's a bit better, the intimacy and talking etc. Still no sex and I begin to feel ashamed of how sexual I am.
I find myself mad at him and burst out at him for small things. I'm full of spite and hurt. I find myself fantasising about sleeping with other people. I want him and I want to stay in this relationship... It feels safe and like a good investment for the future. We both found what other people are looking for for years.
Because of my extraverted and experience-oriented nature I feel like I'd like to try being with other people than just him. Then there's also the fact that our bedroom is dead so this desire is exaggerated.
I'm starting to think about having a conversation with him and propose an open relationship. This could potentially be another good 'tv show' for him if we arrange proper rules and if I tell him everything. Maybe that'd make him more sexual. Tho I understand people don't change and I shouldn't expect it.
TLDR: No sex and I've a high libido. I wanna stay with him but he can't meet my needs.
I'm afraid to hurt him with this conversation. What should I do? Do you think our relationship is stable enough to become open? If no, what the fuck am I supposed to do with my needs for sex and intimacy?
