Hi friends! I need help defining my relationship. I understand my dynamic and my partner and I have it all worked out, we just need to know if it has an actual term. Lemme explain.

So, my partner and I have a one sided non-monogamous thing going on. I've tried the whole multiple partners thing, not for me, super happy with the one. My SO on the other hand enjoys having someone else on the side.

Now, we're sure this isn't an open relationship deal because they don't have multiple other partners, they enjoy the emotional and sexual relationship with this one other person.

Here's where I think it gets confusing because the other person won't be around forever, they're more of a long term bit on the side with a deep emotional connection. The two of us are married and the third person is aware that there's a hierarchy (if that's the word?) and they wouldn't be able to replace me as the "main" relationship.

So if there's a term for this then I'd love for someone to help me out because the two of use have been trying to find a name for it.
