hi! this is just a rant to get my feelings out!

i met this guy in june and we hung out socially a few times and then had two marathon hang-outs. he's awesome, has a primary partner and we are both very on the same page that we want emotionally intimate and communicative friends who have sex situation.

anyways, i left to visit family for july and august, and he is going to visit family with his partner for september and october. i thought we'd be able to see each other and overlap in the city we live in for a week or two, but he just let me know his plans changed and he has to leave three days before i get back.

what's really funny is he's coming to the same coast i've been hahaha

anyways! he's really bummed, and is trying to be optimistic by saying "i'm playing the long game and excited to be back in the same place as you soon!" and he's back in the middle/end of october for a few days and told me those dates and wants to hang out then.

i know everything is fine and the beautiful thing about non-monogamy/fwb/being an independent human is being able to make your own plans and logistics. like i am very happy that i am singe and get to explore these awesome connections with people and i know i will be fine and we will see each other when we see each other.

but damn i'm sad and bummed and frustrated about it! and feeling that unreasonable feeling of like "well yes i can leave for two months but you're not allowed to do that!" also i told him i wished i could forget that he existed or wished i didn't know he existed yet until we were going to be in the same place, and he took that as something nice and sweet that i said to him hahaha. so i feel like i can be cranky and pouty to him about it, because i'm also telling him i'm happy he's going to get so much family and partner time. but gosh it feels good to be unreasonable sometimes!

just wanted to vent that i'm annoyed about this situation and bummed that i don't get to see him and would like some commiserating please
