My partner (27M) and I (30F) are in the process of discussing opening our relationship. We’ve been monogamous for the 2 years we’ve been together, so we’re trying to do this slowly and with the utmost care.

Within 6 months or so we hope to start with swinging and MMF/MFF threesomes, but eventually we think we’ll want to open up further and allow one night stands with people we meet online. We’re happy to have ongoing relationships with threesome partners and/or other couples, but when it comes to solo play neither of us wants the other to have sex with the same partner more than once.

Emotionally exclusivity is very important to both of us, so basically we’re only going to be looking for physical connections, and we want to be transparent about that. We agree it’s imperative we are always honest with everyone about our relationship and intentions.

My question is, how likely is this to actually work out - particularly for him?

Objectively speaking, he is very good looking, tall, successful and interesting. If he was single I’m sure he’d have absolutely no problem finding women to hook up with. But based on what I’ve been reading online I’m a bit worried that it’s going to be too hard for him find women who are interested, given that he’s already partnered and only looking for casual encounters.

I know he is not looking to have sex with a new woman every week, or even every month. Probably 1-4 times a year would be great for him. I wouldn’t be looking for more than that myself either. We’re also open to a pretty wide age range (late twenties to late forties).

Does this seem feasible for 2 young, attractive people? Or are we setting ourselves up for disappointment and frustration?
