Through a few different relationship related subreddits I’ve seen a number of tales about people my age (midlife) finding their marriages to be falling apart. It’s made me even more aware of how strong my marriage, and even stronger since we started ENM.
My wife and I are so very committed to each other and deeply in love. And we want each other to experience everything life has to offer including travel, good food, and passion and relationships.
We are enough for each other. But it’s a great feeling to experience the “new” phase again. And we’re both supportive of each other.
I don’t think people going through a crisis, like their spouse having an emotional or physical affair, are in a place to hear “have you thought about ENM?”, but I wish more people would know it’s an option.
The case I’m thinking about is folks in a long term committed relationship. They’ve built a life together. It all works. But they blow it up because me or both want to experience a new fling and they are stuck in a binary world where you’re either with “this person” or “that person”.
With ENM you can have your cake AND eat it too.
