Step son caught my wife

My (37m) wife (38f) have had an open relationship for roughly 4 years now. She has a 16 year old son. We hadn't discussed our relationship with him before tonight and he just came home unexpectedly to find her in bed with a male friend of hers while I was at work. Her son was pretty upset and plans to stay with his grandfather for a few days. Idk if I just needed to vent in here, or what. I'm sure this has happened to others in here, if anyone could share any advice I'd be open to it.

Daughter - Do you and mom still love each other?
Son - Are you going to get divorced?
Daughter: Why do you need other people?
Son - It feels weird that you have a boyfriend
I get that we candidly discuss these things here, but I would have a hard time explaining this to my teenage kids or in-laws.
