Firstly, let me apologize if I offend anyone with this question, i absolutely do not mean to....
Full disclosure, I 33M and my wife 34F, aren't currently engaged in ENM but are edging ever closer to our first ENM experience, most likely in the form of an MFM threesome and possibly swinging.
I joined this sub some time ago, mostly to help myself recover from trama brought on by our failed first attempt of ENM and also as a means to research to see if ENM was right for me, I'm still trying to decide what I'm comfortable with. Anyhow, I've noticed a trend regarding "partners" in the community and noticed that almost no one refers to their spouse, if they are in fact married, as such. Terms like primary partner and nestiing partner, to name a couple, take place of the spousal title. Is this intentional throughout the community? Is there a specific reason for this? Does this imply an equality between a spouse and a second partner?
Once again, I don't mean to offend anyone and obviously everyone who practices ENM, it's their business on how they conduct themselves and their relationships but I'm curious non the less.
Thanks.
