How do we have a discussion for clear answers on what each of us want from non monogamy, and what each of us can come to expect?

I feel like there's so many different relationship styles in non monogamy and polyam.

Is there an infographic, a guide? I'm so lost and I feel like not having a clearer idea on what myself and my partner wants out of this is making me feel less secure. Obviously I know it could always change, but the fact that there would be clear lines, and any changes there would be discussions going forward would make me feel more secure. But idk how to approach this conversation. Up until now it's mostly been us going on dates.

Does anyone have ideas?
