Hello r/nonmonogamy! I'm seeking some advice and guidance on a situation my partner and I are facing in our ethical non-monogamous journey. We are both plus-size individuals, and we have had different experiences that have impacted our exploration.
Background: My partner had traumatising experiences in the past related to same-sex relationships, but his recent encounter with a couple was wonderful. However, my experience with the same couple was limited due to the other wife's discomfort, resulting in a subtle interaction. Recently, I connected with a younger male on a dating app who is eager to experiment with both of us.
Issue: Unfortunately, my partner has become insecure, both in terms of body image and emotional connection. He seems to feel intimidated by the younger person's physique, and it's affecting his willingness to explore further.
Seeking Advice: I would appreciate any advice on how to address this situation without hurting my partner's feelings, while ensuring his comfort. It's important to me to explore my sexuality, especially considering my past experiences with toxic relationships that never allowed me the chance to do so.
Thank you in advance for your insights and suggestions on how to navigate this delicate situation and find a balance that respects both our needs and boundaries!
