Need advice: feelings for friend that’s in poly relationship

So I’ve gotten pretty close platonically to a friend of mine (we’ll call her Maggie). We hang out, talk frequently, and, recently, Maggie has called me a pet name she also uses to refer to her partner.
I want to ask her out, but at the same time, I don’t know how the dynamic would work. Maggie has had relationships outside of her primary one with her partner, but how am I supposed to approach with that? Especially without making things awkward with her and her partner, who I’m also friends with. There’s also the possibility she’s just extremely nice and I’m reading too much into things
