Do open relationships work if they are one-sided?
Post Body

TLDR; I [28F] am considering an open relationship to avoid being cheated on, but I will most likely remain monogamous. ——-

I [28F] am considering an open relationship in the far future (I’m not actively dating), but I think I might be biased due to all of the infidelity I’ve been seeing in my circle and in social media, also some hurtful personal experiences. In past relationships I’ve never experienced the desire to be with absolutely anyone else, and I don’t think I ever will. I just don’t want to be cheated on again.

I just think it would be unfair of me to tell a partner in the future that our relationship is open and then break up because I can’t take it.
