i went no contact with my biological dad about 5-6 years ago, around the time my grandma (his mother) died. i wrote him a letter expressing how i felt about him and the relationship he had with my sister and i. i told him about the trauma and abuse i suffered when i lived out of the country during his and my mom’s divorce. he read it and didn’t react and left the room. no emotions, no questions nothing, he just didn’t care. so i just stopped talking to him
i stopped worrying and thinking about him for a while although he lives and works in the area; i even occasionally drive by him, but he wouldn’t know it’s me seeing that i was 15-16 the last time he saw me.
he has begun, after 6 years, to text and leave my mom voicemails requesting to “speak to his kids” the same phrase everytime. i’m a 21 year old adult woman, my sister is 15 but he can’t say her name bc he doesn’t even want to talk to her (he can’t acknowledged my sister is his biological child), he wants to speak to me
it’s 1 in the morning and i can’t sleep bc i’m thinking of officially closing this chapter by talking to him. my mom works to hard for him to be harassing her or threatening to take her to court. i’m going to speak to him, making sure he understands that my sister and i CHOSE to not speak to him all these years. my mom has no influence over how we think or interact with him. friday i’m closing this chapter
