Sister wants me to contact my mom

I have been no contact with my mom for 1.5 years now. I am going home for my brother's 21st birthday. I understand I may run into my mom at family events but I planned on being nice and cordial.

My little sister texted me last night and wants me to tell my mom I'm coming home. She said "I want to give mom a heads up you are coming" and she wants me to tell her because "she doesn't wanna be put in the middle"

I 100% don't want to. I don't want to open up that communication. I don't see why she even needs to know.

Any advice? I wanna be kind to my sister but I don't want to talk to my mom.
