Hi all!

Sorry that this isn't a huge update, but --

In my last post, I explained how I have been "noburp" for as long as I can remember. After a balloon sinuplasty, turbinade reduction, and eustacian tube balloons, I suddenly found myself able to burp.

I'm coming up on 3 weeks post-op tomorrow. I am still able to burp. I have had to "air burp" once or twice, but the amount (and my bloating) has been significantly decreased. I'm burping fairly frequently, at least a few times a day. I can't quite figure out how to do it on my own but sometimes I feel bloated and I just kind of "push" and I can burp. Other times it happens on its own. These aren't huge belches or anything, but they're something!

I went in for a follow-up with my doctor last week, and we determined that for the most part, I'm healing well (my eardrums and eustachian tubes are still an issue, but I anticipated that). I asked her if she had ever heard of R-CPD before (no) or if she had ever heard of this procedure helping with burping (also no). I explained that previously, I hadn't been able to burp and had never considered that it might be an ENT problem until I had this procedure and suddenly found myself burping. She's fascinated and would love to talk about it more, but unfortunately has no insight into why I suddenly acquired this new burping power.

That being said, I happen to live in an area of the country where there are 2 local ENTs/doctors who have worked with R-CPD before. So I'm planning on making an appointment with one of them within the next few weeks to discuss this anyways.
